Hug

“Blue, can I have a hug?”

Blue twitched. “A what?” He asked the golden haired boy next to him who was also smiling innocently back at him.

“A hug!” Red repeated once more, jumping happily up and down. “Please, Blue? No one is here, and I just want a hug. Also, its cold!”

“I don’t care if you’re cold, Red. Get a sweater for all I care. There’s one in your closet, isn’t there?”

Red huddled into a ball next to Blue (who conveniently was sitting down) and shivered. “But it’s too cold to go allllll the way to my room and back!” He gave Blue a pair of puppy eyes. “Please Blue? Just this once! Shadow and Vio are out…shopping or something, Green’s on duty at the castle. Please??” Red begged and tugged on Blue’s sleeve.

“Wait…so everyone left me with YOU? They want me to baby-sit a baby like you? Geez, the nerve of those guys…” Blue crossed his arms stubbornly and didn’t dare look at Red (mainly because Red’s eyes would probably get him to say yes AND he didn’t really want an awkward situation when one of the other Links came home). Though he never said he didn’t want to, right? That’s a good thing, right??

The shorter blond gave a small sniffle. “Please Blue? I’m colddddd.”

“It’s not that cold, Red…” Blue muttered, trying to get his attention AWAY from the half crying Red. “Now like, go do something you always do. Bake a cake, the oven will warm you or something…”

“B-But…” Red sniffled. “The oven broke over a month ago!”

“Then heat yourself with your fire rod,” Blue stated, “and leave me alone. There, simple problem solved.”

“I’ll burn the house down if I used it, Blue! Besides, you’re warm.” The shorter Link poked Blue’s tunic. “And blue-ish!”

Blue swatted Red’s hand away. “Don’t poke me, Red. If you’re cold, I’ll give you a sweater. I’ll go find one in your room for you. Problem solved.”

Red grabbed Blue by the arm. “Blue, why do you hate me?” He wailed. “Is it because I annoy you too much?”

The other Link sighed. Sometimes, Red's babyness is a powerful weapon. “One.”

“One?” Red blinked at Blue.

“One hug.”

Red’s eyes were sparkling. “One hug per day?”

“No, one hug for the century.”

Nevertheless, Red’s eyes continued sparkling. “That’s good enough for me, Blue!”

The blue Link looked around the house to make sure no one was REALLY home. Yes, he even looked under the chairs and tables. Maybe not the cabinets because he was almost SURE only Red could fit in there. “Okay then…” He muttered, walking back to Red. “The coast is clear.”

“Ah?” Red just blinked, oblivious to what Blue was doing in the first place. “Hug now?”

“Yes, hug now.” Blue replied. “Only one hug.”

“I’ll make it a good huggle then~” Red literally suffocated Blue with his hug. “Blue’s so warm…”

“Ack…Red…can’t breathe…” The suffocating Blue Link gasped underneath the snuggling Red.

“Huh?” The blond got off Blue to let him breathe. He looked at Blue; worried. “Are you okay, Blue? I’m sorry! That must have hurt!”

“I-I’m fine…” Blue muttered. The heat was rushing up to his face again no matter how much he didn’t want to.

“Really? You’re all red, are you sick? You should lie down! I’ll get you some water if you want.” With that said, Red ushered Blue to the couch, making sure that the Link stays there.

“I’m fine, Red. I’m not sick, I don’t need to rest on the couch.”

“Stay there, I’ll get you water!” Before Red could run off, Blue grabbed Red by the arm and attempted to pull the blond back on the couch next to him.

“I said, don’t go. I’m not sick.”

“Blue…”

“What?”

“Vio and Shadow are home…and so is Green.”

“…What’s your point?” Blue asked, blinking.

“What will they think now that they see I’m lying on your lap and you’re not screaming your lungs off at me?” Red asked almost innocently.

“Yes, what are you going to tell us, Blue?” Vio asked, obviously amused at the scene.

“Umm…I’m sick,” Blue lied. “Red was getting water and he tripped.”

“Backwards, and so luckily on your lap?” Shadow pointed out.

That left Blue pondering on what to say next. Of course, he wasn’t exactly a smart one like Vio, so he needed some time to think about it. Which kind of made everything suspicious, don’t you think?

“Wahh! Don’t make fun of Blue! He’s a really nice person!” Red cried, getting up. “Sorry for ‘falling’ on you, Blue.” His face showed signs that he too was blushing, but it was somewhat covered up by his hair (he never got the time to cut it).

“You can stay.” Blue mumbled, grabbing Red’s sleeve.

“Blue, I never knew you were so desperate for attention…” Green said.

Blue glared at the green Link. “Shut up Green, at least I have someone who gives me attention. You’re the only one left out!”

“What? That’s it! I’m stealing Red!” Green shouted, making a lunge for Red.

“Whee! Free hug!!” Red yelled like a little kid and made a jump for one of his “glomp/hugs.” Like the ones he gave Blue earlier.

“What? Ahh! Give me back Red!! He’s mine, darn you! Get a life, Green!”

Green laughed. “Sure, but you just realized you said you liked Red, right?”

“…” Yet again, Blue’s brain failed him. Give him a few moments.

“Umm…Blue?” Green asked, looking at the tomato also known as Blue.

“I think he died.” Shadow said. “Let’s bury him in the backyard and tell your dad that he tripped over a bug and hit his head on sharp rocks.”

“…A bug?” Vio asked, looking at Shadow uncertainly. “Why a bug?”

“It makes Blue sound stupid.” Shadow answered, grinning accomplishedly.

“Wahh! I really think he fainted, guys!” Red cried, shaking poor old Blue. “All I wanted was a hug!!”

Green laughed. “He’ll wake up soon, I’ll make dinner if you want Red. You can go take care of him.”

“Wahhh!! Blue!!! Wake up!!”
